The Dog That Stole His Best Friend

I am sure you all have heard of the saying, “A dog is a man’s best friend”, if you haven’t, keep reading. All that said, for Sisu, it was a big, purple plush unicorn. A unicorn he “borrowed”, through Breaking and Entering and by stealing a few (major understatement) hearts along the way.

The master plan to retrieve / borrow / steal this unicorn came with its own form of recipe, consisting of:
  • Cuteness
  • Determination
  • Smarts
  • And cuteness once again

Sisu, a not-so-stray dog now, made four attempts to rescue his new best friend. After all that exertion, he finally succeeded on the fifth try. Talk about determination!

The amazing people at the Dollar General store in Kenansville, North Carolina, called up Duplin County Animal Control to report Sisu of his heinous crime. The officer who reported to the scene saw how much love Sisu had for this unicorn and refused to let Sisu leave without his new friend. So, what does $10 get you at the Dollar General store? A dog whose tail will not stop wagging, eternal gratitude, and love for you and his new best friend.

According to the Duplin County Animal Control Facebook post: "This is what happens when you break into the Dollar General consistently to steal the purple unicorn that you laid claim to but then get animal control called to lock you up for your B & E and larceny but the officer purchases your item for you and brings it in with you”.

I think there is a greater lesson we can all learn from Sisu. If you truly want something, then don’t give up. If you feel like giving up, play a game with your dog or teach them a new trick. Watch how hard they try and succeed in getting that toy, treat, chew, or even some belly rubs.

Thank you, Sisu for your determination and making us realize that hard work really does pay off. We hope that there isn’t a day where your tail stops wagging.
